Summary: In modern conditions of scientific and technical progress, the negative impact on the biosphere is increasing, which has serious consequences for the natural environment. The emergence of new cities and the expansion of industrial production contribute to the degradation of natural resources and a change in the microclimate. In this regard, it is extremely important to create conditions that will contribute to the improvement of the microclimate in the environment where people live. One of the effective ways to solve these problems is the introduction of indoor green plants. These plants play a significant role in providing favorable conditions for human life. Unlike inanimate interior items, decorative plants have their own life cycle and periods when their impact on the environment is maximally positive. However, houseplants face a variety of challenges. Their health and development may be at risk due to poor environmental conditions, noncompliance with planting technologies, inappropriate soil conditions, as well as mechanical and biological damage. There are also probable negative factors that can affect their growth and general condition [12]. Therefore, it is important to pay attention not only to the selection of plants, but also to the conditions of their maintenance in order to achieve the maximum benefit for the microclimate and the well-being of people [2]. Ornamental plants are of considerable scientific and practical interest due to their wide application in phytodesign, interior landscaping and biodesign. However, the process of adaptation of indoor plants to new conditions can be long and requires a careful approach. Before plants are introduced into culture, significant scientific and practical experience is accumulated, which allows to determine their stability and longevity.
